What started as a local favourite in Alexandra has grown into a thriving restaurant group, with Fishtail now serving guests in Twizel, Waimate, and Tekapo. After a decade of success, owner K.C. Bikas expanded into new locations, sharing the bold flavours of Indian and Nepalese cuisine with even more communities across New Zealand.
A Name with Himalayan Roots
The name "Fishtail" comes from the English translation of "Machhapuchhre", a majestic mountain in the Annapurna Himalayas of Nepal. Just like this iconic peak, Fishtail Restaurant & Bar stands for tradition, authenticity, and a love for great food.
